NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., March 25, 2024 — MDE Semiconductor, Inc., a manufacturer of Transient Voltage Suppression Devices specifically designed for the protection of electronic systems from the destructive effects of lightning, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and inductive switching, announced today their latest addition to the popular MAX Power TVS Series. The MAX-40 Series Power TVS Diode Series is an industry “go to” device series for aerospace and defense contractors.

MDE has now given our existing and new customers a new mechanical design option for redesign or new design projects – the new TAB LEAD CELL, which is a Slim Line Radial Lead version of the MAX-40 CELL series.

The new MAX-40 TAB LEAD CELL SERIES POWER TVS DIODE is designed to offer clamping characteristics superior to those of standard silicon avalanche diode (SAD) technologies. This superior performance is made possible by MDE Semiconductor, Inc. MAX-Avalanche™ technology which provides clamping voltage lower than the avalanche voltage but above the rated working voltage. As a result, any voltage rises due to increased current conduction is minimized. This device can be connected in series and/or parallel to create a variety of flexible protection solutions. They provide the same enhanced quality, easy manufacturing and compact mechanical design found in the company’s MAX Power TVS Series Diode families.

Typical applications include transient over voltage protection for Aerospace and Defense including RTCA / DO-160 Airborne Equipment, and Shipboard MIL-STD 1399 Section 300B requirements, as well as industrial Transient Voltage Surge Suppressors (TVSSs), Cell Tower Base Stations, and Railway Signal Controls.

The new MAX-40 TAB LEAD CELL SERIES POWER TVS DIODE is a slim line radial lead design that offers the highest power rating (10×1000µs waveform) among radial lead Power TVS Diodes available in the current market. These TVS diodes are certified Halogen-free and RoHS-compliant.
